As Somerset Art Weeks Festival moves into it’s last 5 days we hope all our members exhibiting in their studios or in group exhibitions are having a successful time and getting lots of visitors.

Committee member John Baxter has written an illustrated account of a Somerset Art Weeks exhibition organised by Zak Greening in Wincanton on the site of Clementinas. Called Greening the Earth Gallery, this “stunning new art gallery” particularly appealed to John & he recommends it as a “must see” for Bruton Art Society members. The Society has just opened an Instagram account and we’ve made a good start with 120 followers within 2 weeks!
We’ve been showing images from our exhibitions and are linking up with many other artists in the region.
Quite a few of our members enjoy using Instagram.
For those who don’t know – Instagram allows artists to get their work seen if they want to share it, but they can also enjoy the work of many other artists – locally, nationally & internationally.

Camilla is organising a three day portrait workshop 26-27-28 Oct 10a.m.-5p.m. at Batcombe Somerset BA4 6HE. It is for a maximum of ten artists and will feature two models and a light lunch will be provided. You need bring however your own materials and easel. 13-6-18. A great day for 32 of us in Southampton. The sun shone, the coach was comfortable and took 1.5 hrs each way and we all had a relaxed day talking to each other and absorbing the art.
