There was a record turn-out of fourteen members of the society to paint at the Cole Manor Tea Rooms. See our pictures. The weather was fine –clear, but not too bright, with enough clouds in the sky to throw interesting shadows on the ground. Members made a variety of studies of the picturesque buildings and the beautiful surrounding gardens. Many also enjoyed the excellent light lunches provided by the tea rooms.
The group met together to discuss each others work at the end of the day. The general view was that much fine work had been done – see examples below. There was also enthusiasm expressed for holding more painting days, and it was suggested that during the winter months one might take place in an interior.
We are most grateful to the proprietor of the Tea Rooms, Diana Scott, for making this venue available to us, and for the warm welcome that she and her staff gave us.
