On Tuesday 13th January Bruton Art Society held a reception for three long-serving members who are retiring from the Committee.
These are Jenny Farrer, Katharine Skillen and Clive Dand. Jenny has been a Committee member for nine years and was for much of this time responsible for organizing the Society’s programme of lectures and other events. Katharine has been a member for even longer –fourteen years in all. During that time her responsibilities have included organizing the annual exhibition and editing the Newsletter. She has also provided refreshments at innumerable events, including her legendary mulled wine for the Christmas Party. Clive has been on the Committee for nine years, and during a large part of that time he has been the organizer of the Annual Exhibition, as well as offering general support for many of the society’s activities. Sadly for us, Clive is leaving the area. We wish him all success in his new life in Kent. It is good to know, however, that he will remain a member of the Bruton Art Society and will continue to contribute to the Annual Exhibition.
We would like to thank all three for the great contribution they have made to the Society through their dedicated work over the years.
